PR R INA M ELI Y MITSUBISHI Dig./Ana.INTERFACE M51943AGP VOLTAGE DETECTING, SYSTEM RESETTING IC SERIES This product is under the development, therefore the DESCRIPTION technical specifications may be changed in the future. M51943A are semiconductor integrated circuits designed for detecting supply voltage and resetting all types of logic circuits PIN CONFIGURATION (TOP VIEW) such as CPUs. They find extensive applications, including battery checking circuits, level detecting circuit and waveform shaping circuit. FEATURES * Few external parts GND 1 5 OUTPUT * Detecting Voltage .........4.25V typ. (4.05V to 4.45V) * Low threshold operating voltage (Supply voltage to keep SUB 2 low-state at low supply voltage) ...0.6V(TYP.) at RL=22k (GND) * Wide supply voltage range ............ 2 to 17V 4 SUPPLY N.C. 3 * Sudden change in power supply has minimal effect on the ICs VOLTAGE * Wide application range * Extra small package (SOT-25) (M51943ASL:3pin SIP,M51943AML:3pin SOP, M51943AL:5pin SIPalready Mass production) Outline SOT-25 APPLICATION * Reset pulse generation for almost all logic circuits * Battery checking, level detecting, waveform shaping circuits * Delayed waveform generator * Switching circuit to a back-up power supply * DC/DC converter * Over voltage protection circuit RECOMMENDED OPERATING CONDITION * Supply voltage range ............ 2 to 17V BLOCK DIAGRAM SUPPLY VOLTAGE 4 25A typ. 5 OUTPUT 1.25V 3 N.C. 2 SUB (GND) 1 GND N.C. :NO CONNECTION (1/3) 1998-3-5 M51943AGP N.C. :NO CONNECTION MITSUBISHI Dig./Ana.INTERFACE M51943AGP VOLTAGE DETECTING, SYSTEM RESETTING IC SERIES FUNCTION DIAGRAM SUPPLY 4.25V VOLTAGE H OUTPUT STATE L ABSOLUTE MAXINUM RATINGS (Ta=25C Unless otherwise noted) Symbol ICC Isink VO Pd K0 Topr Tstg Parameter Supply Voltage Output Sink Current Output Voltage Power Dissipation Thermal Derating Operating Temperature Storage Temperature Test condition Ratings 18 6 Vcc 200 Unit V mA V mW mW/C C C Output with constant current load 5pin SOP(SOT-25) Ta25C 5pin SOP 2 -30 to +85 -40 to +125 ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS (Ta=25C, Unless otherwise noted) Symbol VS Parameter Detecting Voltage Hysterisis Voltage Detecting Voltage Temperature Coefficient Circut Current Output Saturation Voltage Threshold Operating Voltage Output Load Current Output High Voltage Propagation Deray Time Test condition MIN 4.05 30 Limits TYP 4.25 50 0.01 MAX 4.45 80 Unit V mV %/C VS VS/T ICC Vsat VOPL IOC VOH tPHL tPLH VCC=5V VCC=4V,Isink=4mA Minimum supply voltage RL=2.2k,Vsat0.4V for IC operation RL=100k,Vsat0.4V VCC=5V,VO=1/2Vcc -40 Vcc-0.2 Response time when Vcc changes H to L Response time when Vcc changes L to H 370 0.2 0.67 0.55 -25 Vcc-0.06 6 3 560 0.4 0.8 0.7 -17 A V V A V s (2/3) 1998-3-5 MITSUBISHI Dig./Ana.INTERFACE M51943AGP VOLTAGE DETECTING, SYSTEM RESETTING IC SERIES Example of application circuit Reset Circuit of M51943AGP VCC SUPPLY VOLTAGE OUTPUT RL SUPPLY VOLTAGE RESET(RESET) LOGIC CIRCUIT M51943A SUB GND Cd GND Note 1. This IC can be used whether a pull-up resistor is included in the logic circuit or not. Note 2. The logic circuit preferably should not have a pull-down resistor, but if one is present, add load resistor RL to overcome the pulldown resistor. ! Mitsubishi Electric Corporation puts the maximum effort into making semiconductor products better and more reliable, but there is always the possibility that trouble may occur with them. Trouble with semiconductors may lead to personal injury, fire or property damage.Remember to give due consideration to safety when making your circuit design,in order to prevent fires from spreading, redundancy, malfunction or other mishap.
