FREEDMTM-32P672 Development Kit
OVERVIEW
The FREEDMTM-32P672 Development Kit is a self contained hardware and software reference design tool, designed to operate on a Pentium-based PC running Windows 95/98. The kit provides a platform to develop and integrate software with a state-ofthe-art Frame Engine and Data Link Manager design.
SOFTWARE
The kit contains an interactive program, complete with graphical user interface, that is used to monitor and configure the FREEDMTM-32P672. The software, installed from the kit's CDROM, provides a visual interface to control and monitor the operation of the board. Direct access to the FREEDMTM-32P672 (provided via the PC's PCI bus) allows the user to: * Read or write any of the FREEDMTM32P672 Normal Mode Registers. * Generate packets to be processed by the FREEDMTM-32P672. * Develop software for use with the FREEDMTM-32P672.
FEATURES
* Supports a PCI interface, providing microprocessor access to the FREEDMTM-32P672 via the host PC. * Provides a demonstration platform of the FREEDMTM-32P672 functions and performance. * Windows 95 or 98 compatible. * Graphical User Interface allows quick point-and-click access to complex operations. * Includes a searchable help file for fast, easy access to documentation. * Optionally configures the FREEDMTM32P672 automatically for various tests (Automatic Mode). Alternatively, Manual mode allows the user to exercise more configuration control. * Provides an extensive statisticsgathering facility to allow quick analysis of board performance.
HARDWARE
The kit contains a FREEDMTM-32P672 evaluator board that has been developed to fit into a PCI-based desktop computer. This board consists of a PM7380 FREEDMTM-32P672 device, the necessary interface circuitry, clock distribution circuitry, and various user configurable headers. The board is configured, monitored, and powered through the PC's motherboard.

The FREEDMTM-32P672 Development Kit Software contains an extensive suite of test cases including: * Unchannelized T1 loopback mode. * Unchannelized E1 loopback mode. * 16 T1/ 16 E1 unchannelized loopback mode. * Unchannelized 52 Mbit/s /DS3 /Mixed mode data loopback. * Unchannelized 2.048 Mbit/s H-MVIP data loopback. * Unchannelized 8.192 Mbit/s H-MVIP data loopback.
