ev40 3 4 - s - 0 0 b C universal input , 3. 5 w , gu10 led driver ev4034 - s - 00 b rev. 1.1 www.monolithicpower.com 5 5/1/2018 mps proprietary information. patent protected . unauthorized photocopy and duplication prohibited. ? 2018 mps . all rights reserved. circuit description the ev4034 - s - 00b is configured for a single - stage , flyback topology . it uses primary - side - cont rol to simplify the schematic and reduce b om costs . it can also achieve an accurate led current. the input stage consists of fr1 and db 1 . f r 1 protect s against component failure or some excessive short events , and can restrain the inrush current . the filter ( c1, l1 , and c2 ) guarantee s that the conducted emi meet s the en55015 standard . the snubber circuit ( r 2 , r 3 , d 1 , and c3 ) reduc e s the drain - source voltage spike. r 4 , c4 , and d2 provide the v cc power supply. the resistor divider ( r 5 and r6 ) provid es open - lamp protection by sampling the voltage on the primary auxiliary winding. when an open occurs , the output voltage remains constant. cy1 is a y capacitor that lower s common - mode noise to en sure a sufficient emi margin. t1 is the power transformer, the structure of which is also very important to pass emi test. d 3, c5 , and r7 compose output circuit. d3 is a schottky diode for better efficiency. c5 is a ceramic capacitor for lower output - voltage ripple and r7 is the dummy load for open - lamp protectio n.
